Health Insurance
|
Many people not covered by an employer or
group plan will consider their own health and dental insurance.
When looking for affordable health
insurance, you will have to do quite a bit of searching to find the best
type of health plan available to you and for your specific situation.
The regulations and qualifications that
govern individual medical insurance vary from state to state or from
country to country and from one insurance provider to another. Be informed consumer,
compare all your options, and shop carefully
because coverage and costs vary from company to company and between
various plan types.
Health care
costs are increasing
rapidly, and are getting higher every year, despite politician's
promises to cut the cost of health care. With the cost of health care
so high, the cost of health insurance is naturally increasing and it is
going to be even higher. We are all aging and therefore, we all need to
focus on several important points of interest when searching for
affordable health insurance.
The premiums charged for individual health insurance are
usually based on your age, your health status, your location, and your
lifestyle habits.
For example if you are smoker, you will pay more for health insurance
than non-smokers, or if you are overweight you will also pay more for
health insurance. Your pre-existing health conditions and your
lifestyle will also have
big influence on price of your health insurance policy. That's all
because
the insurance company views your lifestyle habits as a higher risk.
In same situations and same states, the insurance company may turn
you down, or they may exclude benefits, for treatments associated with your
pre-existing medical condition.
Some states don't permit insurance companies to place
exclusionary riders on individual health insurance policies, but in
that case the rate of declined applications is much higher.
Sometimes, if
your claims exceed the maximum lifetime
benefit defined in your health insurance agreement, the insurance
company may legally cease paying benefits toward any further medical
treatments.
It is always
good idea to check all the details of your health insurance agreement
with your insurance advisor before you buy any health plan.
